What is Thermage?
Thermage is a non-invasive surgical procedure for skin tightening. Using a combination of heat energy and the Monopolar Radiofrequency (RF) energy to stimulate collagen formation in deep tissue, Thermage helps to tighten the skin, producing a smoother and younger look in a single treatment. In addition, alternating pulses of heating and cooling make the procedure very refreshing and comfortable.

Thermage Procedure
1. ThermaTip will be used to give a cooling sensation on the area that will be treated by the dermatologist.
2. Heat energy from RF will then be applied. Alternating hot (from RF) and cold (from the ThermaTip) pulses will be applied throughout the procedure.
3. RF energy will penetrate deep into the skin tissue, heating the treatment areas and stimulating the formation of collagen.
4. The duration of treatment will vary from 20 mins to 2 hrs, depending on the area treated and its condition.

Treatment Depth of Thermage
Thermage can heat the skin from the top-down. It can treat up to 3mm of skin depth. · Treat the area gently. Try to pat the skin instead of rubbing with towel.
· Daily activities may resume as usual. But if any blistering, redness, crusting, tenderness, or any other concerning changes occur, contact the doctor immediately.

Q1: Does Thermage hurt?
A1: You will feel a brief sensation of heat each time the Thermage is pulsed. But the device monitors the surface temperature of your skin and applies a cooling cryogen spray, which is delivered before, during, and after the application of heat.
Q2: How often should I have a Thermage session?
A2: Once every 2 to 3 years.
Q3: Can I undergo Thermage if I am breastfeeding?
A3: No. Please be informed that this treatment is not suitable for those who are pregnant, nursing, have any implantable pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter/defibrillator (ICD) or any other electronic implantable device.
Q4: What is the difference between Thermage and HIFU?
A4: Both are effective treatments for combating aging, however there are few differences.
