Some Tips Before You Give Breast Augmentation a Go

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure to transform the size and shape of your breasts. As breasts are one of the significant symbols of femininity, breast augmentation has become the most commonly performed cosmetic surgical procedure over the last decade and nowadays people are still planning for it.
Although there are other methods that can be done alternatively to boob jobs, this is still the most permanent procedure known.
The Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation, or breast implants, involves the carefully selecting of implants to place within the patient's breasts. The overall procedure takes about 60 to 90 minutes to complete, but the results you get after that is worth the time spent.
There are different types of inserts to consider, mainly saline and silicone breast implants. Saline inserts are filled with sterile saltwater and typically come in a more uniform, one-size-fits-all types of size. Silicone implants, on the other hand, are made of silicone gel, giving a more natural breast tissue feeling.
The Choosing of implants
There are many different implant sizes and shapes available. Even after you have chosen the type of implant, there's still the shape and size to consider. In the case where you’d choose to go for silicone, did you know there are three different shapes of silicone implants? These include smooth round, textured round, and textured anatomical teardrop implants; round implants give breasts a fuller look in person, while smooth inserts feel softer.
Textured implants have a slightly lower rate of capsular contracture (scar tissue forming around the implant), and this material of implants tend to move around less when they are textured, which means they might not have that much of a natural appearance.
The Risks and Recovery
As for how the surgical or invasive treatments are, there are some risks involved along with the potential complications, either major or minor depending on the conditions.
It is advised to discuss all the potential risks that may result in further complications afterwards prior to the surgery. Possible risks include:
・Anesthesia risks
・Bleeding/hematoma
・Infection
・Changes in nipple or breast sensation
・Poor scarring
・Wrong or faulty position of time implant
・Implant leakage or rupture
・The formation of tight scar tissue around the implant
・Fluid accumulation
・Wrinkling of the skin over the implant
・Persistent pain
・Possibility of revision surgery
In regard to recovery, under a long-acting anesthetic that helps with the pain-free for 72 hours, typically you have to spend about one hour in postoperative recovery before heading back to your place. After the recovery period, you may experience chest tightness and soreness, which would subside with time.
