What is Eyelid Aesthetics?

An incision will be made on the natural crease of the eyelid, and the underlying orbicularis muscle will be reshaped by removing a very narrow muscle band or by shaping the muscle with a bipolar cautery instrument. Excess fat will also be removed. Then, thin stitches will be made. Since the stitches are made in the fold of the eyelid, the scar will be hidden when the eyes are open. In addition, it will also only appear as a very thin line.
Lower Eyelid Aesthetics
For those with eyebags, lower eyelid aesthetics procedure can help in reducing puffiness. The patient’s eyelids will be marked carefully while the patient is standing to get properly positioned skin, muscle and fat. Then, a small and hidden incision will be made along the inner surface of the eyelid.
Excess fat will be removed and incision will be closed with absorbable suture. This approach is usually done for those with puffiness, but do not have a lot of excess skin to be removed.
A second option is to make a small incision for a 5mm micro-operation performed just below the lower lash line to remove excess fat and lift the muscles. Excess loose skin will also be removed and the incision will be closed with very thin stitches. The resulting scar will be difficult to see once healed. This method is suitable for those with sagging skin around the eyes that make them older or tired.
Fat Transfer

A1: Swelling can be healed quickly by getting enough rest (avoid strenous activity), eating healthy food, drinking enough water, taking anti-inflammatory drugs (which will also aid in resting), keeping your head at an elevated position (to reduce blood flow to eye area) and applying cold compresses to the surgical area. Do ask your doctor for advice before taking steps in reducing your post-blepharoplasty swelling.
Q2: Will I be conscious during the surgery?
A2: Yes, you will be. Only local anesthesia with sedation will be used to eliminate pain and reduce anxiety. You will not be put to sleep as the surgeon will need you to move your eyes from time to time while the surgery is going on.
