What is Lung Focus Checkup?
Health checkups have always been one of the important things to do every year to update the health status and help identify any potential risks to be aware of so that early diagnosis and treatment can be done in time.
Lung Focus Checkup is one of the health checkup packages available at our affiliated hospital which focuses on screening for any abnormalities in the lungs of men and women aged 50 years and over. The package helps to detect any early signs of lung cancer.
How It Works
The package works by using a low dose of radiation computer X-Ray which is suitable for older patients. There are lists of consultation, investigation, and laboratory tests to be performed within the package. You will be assisted to follow the procedures.

· Blood sample required for screenings
· Fasting for at least 10 to 12 hrs is required prior to the blood test (except sips of water)
Treatment Preparation
· Complete fasting except for sips of water is required for at least 10 to 12 hrs prior to the blood test
· Do not consume any alcoholic beverages for 72 hrs before the blood test
· For urinalysis in women, please avoid collecting urine during the menstrual period; the sample can only be collected at least 3 to 5 days after the period
· Please contact the Advanced Diagnostic Centre on the 4th floor for a stool collection kit and the instruction before your health check-up appointment date as the sample must be returned within 2 hrs after collection for the most accurate laboratory test result
· For cervical cancer screening, the screening should be done while you are not in your menstrual period and at least 3 to 5 days after the period; please refrain from sexual intercourse 1 day before the screening
· For ultrasound of the upper and lower abdomen, please refrain from eating any food for 4 to 6 hrs prior to the screening; drink plenty of water and hold the urination until the process is done
· For Exercise Stress Test, please make an appointment before the examination; please refrain from consuming caffeine beverages and taking any medications that could affect the heart rate, wear trousers and bring your own sports shoes for your convenience during the test
