What is Endometrial Ablation?

Endometrial Ablation is a procedure performed for the ones who suffer endometriosis. The treatment is often recommended by the gynecologist to replace the procedure that involves removing the whole womb known as hysterectomy.

Endometriosis is usually unexplainable but known to cause by an imbalanced hormone structure. This often occurs in women moving towards menopause.

How It Works

Endometrial Ablation involves removing the thin tissue layer surrounding the uterus in order to stop the uncontrolled or prevent excessive uterine bleeding. The condition is known as menorrhagia, it is defined when women have extremely heavy periods or abnormal bleeding that lasts more than a week or having bleedings during a non-menstrual period, as well as larger quantities of bleeding during the menstrual period.

Endometrial Ablation At Our Affiliated Hospital

At our affiliated hospital, endometrial ablation procedures will be performed in the operating theater. A number of techniques are available, such as Electrical, Hydrothermal, Balloon Therapy, or Cryoablation. Most of the procedures are done with hysteroscopy and resectoscope along with epidural or blockage. However, the techniques will depend on your condition and the surgeon's recommendation.

Electrical - electric currents that cauterize the tissue
