What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, also simply known as a nose job, is a treatment that improves the appearance and proportion of your nose, thus enhancing facial harmony and more self-confidence. There are various techniques for rhinoplasty to be performed; the procedure usually involves making incisions to reshape the bones and cartilage of the nose as desired.

How It Works

Rhinoplasty has 2 methods of treatment: open and closed.
The main difference between open and closed rhinoplasty is that open rhinoplasty is performed by making an incision on the soft tissue between the nostrils to lift back the skin for surgery, whereas closed rhinoplasty involves no incision on the outside of the nostrils, leaving no scars.

Closed rhinoplasty is considered less invasive and takes a shorter time to complete. However, there is limited space for the surgeons to work on compared to the open rhinoplasty, and hence the free to reshape and stabilization of the nose is easier and more accessible with the open rhinoplasty method. The methods to be used depend on your nose condition.

At our affiliated clinic, not only the first-time rhinoplasty can be done, but the ones who have previously undergone nose surgeries can receive the treatment as well.

Treatments Available

· Augmentation rhinoplasty
The procedure can be performed either by open or close rhinoplasty to help achieve a taller and shapelier nose by inserting a silicone implant or ear cartilage for augmentation.

· Rhinoplasty with previous ear cartilage or implants removal
Ear cartilage or implants previously planted will be removed and revised with the new augmentation procedure.

· Rhinoplasty with hump rasping
The procedure is to reduce the appearance of dorsal humps that cause bone irregularities on the nose. This helps to enhance a straight slope from the bridge of the nose to the tip by removing the protruding cartilage.

· Rhinoplasty with osteotomy
A well-known method used to reduce the width of the nasal bone; the result of osteotomy is a slimmer and more defined nasal bridge and nose.

· Rhinoplasty after filler removal (after hyalase injection)
Removal of hyaluronic acid previously injected before augmentation.

· Reduction rhinoplasty
The overall size of the nose will be reduced as desired.

Rhinoplasty Procedure

1. Consultation and examination will be performed
2. Marking of the treatment area to be operated on
3. Application of local or general anesthesia
4. In open surgery, incisions will be made on the columella
5. In a closed surgery, incisions will be placed within the nostrils
6. Placement of silicone implant or cartilage onto the desired area
