What is Carboxytherapy?
Carboxytherapy is known as a non-surgical cosmetic medicine treatment that employs injections or transdermal application to infuse Carbon Dioxide (CO2) under the skin. Studies have demonstrated that carboxytherapy improves skin elasticity and circulation, encourages collagen repair, improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and destroys localized fatty deposits.
How It Works
Poor blood circulation is partially responsible for cellulite and stretch marks. As CO2 is injected, it diffuses into the surrounding tissues and results in the dilation of blood vessels. Wider vessels indicate a stronger blood supply as a gush of oxygen and nutrients enter the treated area. This will improve blood circulation, thus repairing skin elasticity. Other than that, CO2 can also kill fat cells and the extra oxygen helps to eliminate the fluid build-up between cells, stimulating the skin to produce more collagen, resulting in fewer fat cells and firmer, younger-looking skin.
Carboxytherapy Procedure
1. The CO2 gas flow from the tank will be regulated by the attending physician.
2. Any impurities will be picked up by the filter of the machine.
3. The gas will then run through a very small needle at the opposite side of the filter.
4. The gas will be injected into the patient's skin through the needle.
