MA stands for “minimal access”, also known as "short scar". This means that the incision where the surgeon would access from will produce a hidden scar. Usually, incision is made from the bottom of the earlobe to the front of the ear, then travels to the bottom of the sideburn. The resulting scar from this incision will then be hidden by the sideburn and natural creases.

CS stands for “cranial suspension”, which means that the SMAS layer under the cheeks will be lifted to a fixed point on the cranium (the head). In the procedure, the skin will be tightened and string sutures will be placed on the SMAS to permanently lift it, hence lifting the lower part of the face.

MACS Lift has lower complication risks compared to the traditional facelift, and takes into consideration the natural anatomy and actual changes that happen with aging. When lower part of the face is lifted, sagginess around the jawline is improved, hence giving a more youthful overall facial appearance.

After consultation and examination on your condition, the surgery will start with an incision around a marked area. Then sutures will be placed in the strong surface of the SMAS to lift the soft tissues.

The suspension sutures will help to correct any aging signs that occur and stimulate tightening of the skin. Then, the sutures will gradually dissolve over a year or more.
