FAQ
Q1: Will I be asleep during surgery?
A1: Yes, general anaesthesia will be administered before surgery.
Q2: Will I be in pain after surgery and if so, for how long?
A2: Your nose may be stuffy and swollen after surgery. However, you will be prescribed a pain medication to ease the pain. Soreness and swelling usually take about 2 to 3 weeks to subside.
Q3: I heard that Secondary Rhinoplasty is more difficult to perform than the Classic one, is that true?
A3: Some surgeons choose not to perform secondary rhinoplasty because factors associated with classic rhinoplasty make it more difficult to perform. Those factors may include scar tissue from the original surgery, the need to reinforce nasal structure with cartilage and composite grafts, and unknown variables. But worry not as our affiliated clinics our equipped with necessary skills and experience to perform the surgery.
Q4: What precautions should I take before my rhinoplasty?
A4: Refrain from smoking 4 weeks before your rhinoplasty. Moreover, avoid taking any medication with blood-thinning properties.
Q5: What else must I do after my rhinoplasty?
A5: Sleep in an upright position or in any way that results in your head having a higher position than your chest--this is to minimize swelling. Do not forget to take any prescribed pain medication. To reduce the risk of infection, remember to take prescribed antibiotics.
