PRP (Hair Loss Treatment)

Using growth factors present in your blood (plasma), PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) helps to accelerate and stimulate the regeneration of tissues in your scalp. Its application at the capillary level (through microinjections) stimulates the formation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, increasing vascularization (blood flow) at the level of the hair follicle.

This could be the mechanism in which PRP reduces hair loss and promotes regeneration in patients with moderate hair loss.

Compared to FUE, PRP (for hair loss) has the following characteristics:
· Incision-free
· Promotes regeneration of hair follicles
· No recovery period
· No scarring

1. A small amount of blood will be extracted from you, after which your blood plasma will be centrifuged until the platelet-rich plasma is obtained.
2. Your platelet-rich plasma will be injected at the capillary level of your scalp, which will help to stimulate regeneration.

Q1: Do the microinjections hurt?
A1: Since they are "micro" injections, they are tolerable. However, local anesthesia can be requested if desired.

Q2: When can I expect to see the results?
A2: Generally, it takes about 6 to 9 months to see results.

Q3: How long can the results last?
A3: Studies suggest that PRP treatments for hair loss are good for about 6 weeks or so. Repeated treatments may be required after 1 year.

Q4: How do I know if I am a good candidate?
A4: Ideal candidates for PRP for hair loss are at the beginning stages of thinning hair with at least partially active hair follicles. Patients with more advanced hair loss or inactive follicles are still considered good candidates for PRP, but if that is your case, please remember that you may require more treatments.
