What is Arm Lift?
Arm lift, also known as Brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that aims to smoothen the skin by trimming down excess skin and fat between the underarm and the elbow.
If you have dangling, drooping or sagging skin on your upper arm (which is an inescapable outcome of aging or major weight loss), an arm lift can give you smoother, toner, and well-defined balanced skin. Although exercise can shape your arms, exercise cannot help shape inelastic skin, weakened tissues, and localized fat deposits.
How It Works
Arm lift works by removal of excess skin and fat from the underarms, the area between armpit and elbow. The skin will then be draped back over the newly repositioned contours to give the tight and firm effect. The procedure helps to improve the overall underarm appearance that sags due to aging, heredity, or weight loss. Surgery will be performed under general anesthesia.
Arm Lift Procedure
1. Areas for incision-making will be marked.
2. General anesthesia will be performed.
3. Incisions will be made between axial or armpit and elbow.
4. Liposuction would be performed if necessary.
5. The tissue in your upper arm will be removed and tightened.
6. Incisions will be closed with stitches.

Arm Lift Recovery
During the recovery period, a small thin tube may be temporarily placed under the skin to drain any excess blood or fluid at the incision site. Bandages or dressings may be applied to the incision wounds and the arms may be wrapped in an elastic bandage or a compression garment to minimize swelling after the surgery.
Specific instructions will be given on how to care for the surgical site and drains, as well as medications to apply or take orally to aid healing.
FAQ
Q1: Why do I have to avoid alcohol consumption after the treatment?
A1: Alcohol could interact with pain medication to cause complications such as fluid retention.
Q2: How would smoking affect the recovery process?
A2: Nicotine contained in smoke can slow down healing when it reacts with blood in the body.
Q3: Does the treatment hurt?
A3: No, general anesthesia will be used for sedation.
Q4: Are the results permanent?
A4: Yes, but significant fluctuations in weight will negate the results of the surgery. The skin will also inevitably lose elasticity with natural aging process.
Q5: Will I have scars after my arm lift?
