What is Back Lift Surgery?
A back lift is a procedure to remove excess skin of the upper or lower back areas, as well as on the flank areas. It is a surgery that can improve body appearance by reshaping it into a smoother body line. This procedure instantly eliminates problematic loose, hanging and sagging skin folds that usually occur as a result of major weight loss through lifestyle changes or bariatric surgery. The excess skin lacks elasticity, which makes it hard to get rid of through exercise as the skin cannot conform to the new body shape.
How It Works
Back lift surgery at our affiliated hospital is performed under general anesthesia. The excess skin is marked and then removed by the surgical procedure. Drainage tubes may be used after the surgery to prevent any build-up of fluid within the body. You will be required to stay hospitalized for 1 night; limited activity and some soreness can be expected for a few weeks. The result will be visible immediately, but you may have to wear a compression garment for up to 6 weeks to support the treated area.
