What Is Blepharoplasty?

Do you fear the effects of aging when you realize eye-bags and wrinkles around your eyes are now starting to appear? Or do you have small and uneven eyes since birth and you are unhappy with them?

Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid lift is just the right treatment for you. It is the plastic surgery performed to correct any deformity at the eyelids, resulting in more aesthetically-pleasing eyelids or eyes.

Double Eyelid Surgery

This surgery is a technique to create a crease in the upper eyelid, giving a bigger eye look by having double lid. It is a famous procedure especially among those who have monolid feature.

In terms of anesthesia, you have the freedom to opt for local or general anaesthesia.

Upper and Lower Eyelid Surgery

This procedure helps to reduce bagginess from lower eyelids and removes excess skin from the upper eyelid. In addition, the surgery is able to remove fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the eyelid, bags under the eyes, and eliminate fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid.

In terms of anesthesia, you have the freedom to opt for local or general anaesthesia.

Upper or Lower Eyelid Surgery

Lower eyelid surgery involves reducing the bagginess under the eyes. It can help eliminate excess skin, eye bags and any fine wrinkles at the lower eyelid. Upper eyelid surgery helps remove fatty deposits in the upper eyelid (resulting in less puffier eyes) and also defines the natural contour of the upper eyelid.

In terms of anesthesia, you have the freedom to opt for local or general anaesthesia.

How It Works

Generally, our affiliated doctor will cut along the fold of your eyelids in order to remove excess skin, muscle and fat. This could happen for both on the upper and lower eyelid.

Blepharoplasty Procedure

Typical blepharoplasty procedure is as follows:

1. Anaesthesia will be administered.
2. The incision will be made at the upper or lower eyelids. Excess skin or fat deposit will be removed.
3. Eyelid incisions will be closed with sutures or skin glue (sutures will be removed 1 week after).
