· Those who want smaller and slimmer jawline.
· Those who want to have a more feminine facial appearance.

What is Masseter Botox?

This treatment is ideal if you have bruxism, or teeth grinding in which you clench your teeth even when unconscious, which leads to frequent headaches and the wearing out of teeth. When teeth grinding occurs out of habit, the muscles around the jaw (masseter muscle) can expand, which makes your face look more square and bigger.

With botox injection, the muscles become paralyzed, preventing bruxism from happening. And when the muscles are not used as actively as before, it would lead to the thinning of the muscle. Overtime, your face will have a softer contour and smaller size.

How It Works

When teeth grinding occurs out of habit, you can 'train' the masseter muscle, causing the muscles to become enlarged. Botox has the ability to block signals from the nerves, causing the muscles to become paralyzed as they can't contract. This will prevent teeth grinding from occurring. When the muscles are weakened and not used as actively as before, the muscles will gradually become thinner and you will get a softer jawline. It must be reminded that this treatment can only treat overactive masseter muscles, and cannot improve big jawline due to facial bone structure.

Procedure for Botox

1. The jawline will be examined to determine the injection sites and the number of injections needed.
2. Targeted areas will be cleansed and disinfected.
3. A numbing cream will be applied over the targeted area(s).
4. Botox will be injected into the targeted area(s).
5. End of treatment.
