What is Ptosis Correction?
Ptosis refers to drooping of the upper eyelid. The droop can descend over the pupil, blocking full vision and making the person looks sleepy. Ptosis can affect both children and adults, but it usually occurs because of aging. The condition can also happen due to injury, the problem with the levator muscles (muscles that lift the eyelid), an aftereffect of cataract surgery, or other corrective eye surgery. An eye tumor, neurological disorder, or systemic disease like diabetes are other causes of drooping eyelids. Ptosis correction is a surgery that can help to tighten levator muscles to lift the eyelid, giving you an improved eye appearance and vision.

FAQ
Q1: Can I continue wearing contact lens and glasses after the procedure?
A1: On the day of the surgery, please bring your glasses or sunglasses to avoid irritating the eyes. You can only continue wearing your contact lens after your eyelid has healed, that is when it feels comfortable and can close well. Generally, you can start wearing lenses again about 3 to 4 weeks after surgery.
Q2: Do I have to change my glasses after the treatment?
A2: You may need to change your eyeglass prescription, but please wait until at least 2 months after surgery to get a new prescription to allow your eyes to get comfortable.
Q3: Will there be any effects on my vision?
A3: The surgery does affect your vision, but it may cause eye dryness since the eyes may not close fully during the recovery period. Please use the lubricating ointment when necessary and follow the doctor's post-care tips to get faster healing.
Q4: Will the swelling after the surgery affect my daily life?
A4: Swelling and internal bleeding may happen for about a week, and then they will gradually subside. Please take plenty of rest during recovery.
