What is Thigh Lift?
Thigh lift, or sometimes known as thigh surgery or thighplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to restore firmness to the thighs by cutting away loose skin through an incision along the inguinal area, resulting in smoother skin and better contours for the thighs and lower body.
This procedure is commonly performed especially for those who have gone through a great weight loss journey and have loose drooping skin on their inner thighs. In order to maintain results of thighplasty, muscle toning exercises should be done before surgery and after recovery.
How It Works
The surgery is done with either transverse or vertical incision. The incision types are as explained below:
· Transverse Incision: An incision that creates a horizontal cut and may produce a visible scar. However, patients are often willing to tolerate the scars to solve their issues.
· Vertical Incision: An incision that creates a vertical cut at the inner part of the thigh and may be done until the knee or ankle. Typically applied for patients who have excess skin around the thigh. May leave a T-shaped scar.
The right type of incisions should be determined by our affiliated doctors. The right incision type will be chosen based on your condition and desired result, as well as other factors.

FAQ
Q1: Will the scars from my thigh surgery procedure ever heal?
A1: Yes. Wound healing will continue until the scars mature over 6 to 12 months.
Q2: Are results of this procedure permanent?
A2: Significant fluctuations in weight will negate the results of surgery. If your weight is maintained, so will the results of your thigh surgery.
Q3: Will aging affect the results of my thigh surgery?
A3: Some firmness in the thighs can be lost over the years due to the natural process of aging.
Q4: If I have a lot of excess fat at my thighs, can I get a thigh surgery right after my liposuction procedure?
A4: No. If you plan on going for a thigh surgery after your liposuction session, the duration between these 2 treatments should be about half a year.

A5: You may experience some discomfort especially during the early stage of recovery, but it will be bearable. Please adhere to the doctor's aftercare advice for a good recovery process.
