What is Circumcision?
Circumcision is a surgical procedure performed to remove the foreskin, the tissue covering the head(glans) of the penis.
The treatment is often done due to a religious purpose, as well as for the personal hygiene.
How It Works
The procedure involves freeing the foreskin from the head of the penis, and the excess foreskin is clipped off. It takes only 5 to 10 mins for the newborn, whereas for adults circumcision takes about 1 hr. The circumcision generally heals within 5 to 7 days.
At our affiliated clinic, the prices are separated into for children (less than 12 years old) and adults. Also, the procedure can either be done with local anesthesia (LA) or general anesthesia (GA), depending on patient's desire.
Circumcision Procedure
1. Consultation and examination of the penis condition
2. Cleaning the penis with an antiseptic
3. Application of local or general anesthesia
4. The clamp will be placed on the penis that pulls the foreskin away from the tip
5. The foreskin will be carefully cut away
6. The penis will be bandaged with gauze to prevent rubbing against any surfaces
