What is the Dermal Filler + PicoDiscovery Treatment?
Dermal fillers are injected into the skin to plump areas of the skin that have lost their fullness and volume. In addition, dermal fillers are effective at reducing wrinkles.
PicoDiscovery is a laser that emits ultra-short picosecond pulses that break down any form of pigmentation, be it natural or artificial. After the pigmentation has been broken down, the tiny pigmentation particles are eliminated by the body's immune system.

Juvederm Volite Dermal Filler
This dermal filler is designed to last for up to 9 months. It is manufactured using hyaluronic acid (HA) that has a combination of low and high molecular weight increase the cross-linking efficiency of HA chains. This creates a smoother finish that looks natural with less probability of pain and swelling after treatment. It can be used on the cheeks, laugh lines around the mouth, lips, and lip lines.
Radiesse Dermal Filler
Radiesse has calcium-based microspheres used to correct wrinkles and folds in the face and hands. The microspheres stimulate your body to produce collagen to increase skin elasticity. It can be injected to treat facial wrinkles, folds (like nasolabial folds) and to restore volume loss in the back of the hands. You should not use Radiesse if you have an allergy to lidocaine or medicines like it.
How Pico Discovery Laser Works
Pico Discovery laser is a well-known treatment for pigmentation. When laser is targeted at the pigmented lesion, the blemish will absorb the light, and the light will vibrate, causing the pigment particles to break into fragments in picosecond pulses. This laser targets the pigmented lesion without affecting the surrounding tissues.
Dermal Filler + PicoDiscovery Treatment Procedure
Dermal Filler Procedure:
1. Your facial appearance will be evaluated and injection sites will be determined.
2. Injection sites will be cleansed.
3. An anesthetic ointment may be applied upon request.
4. The dermal filler will be injected into predetermined sites. Injected areas will be massaged each time the dermal filler is injected.
PicoDiscovery Procedure:
1. Pulses from the Pico Discovery laser will be directed onto areas of concern on your face.

Q3: Can this procedure treat my acne?
A3: Those with active acne are recommended to undergo the Q-Switch Laser or Pro-Yellow Laser procedure, as the aforementioned procedures generate a higher amount of heat that is needed to effectively kill acne bacteria, shrink oil glands and reduce inflammation.
Q4: Can the PicoDiscovery laser brighten my face?
A4: Yes. A brightening effect is associated with the PicoDiscovery laser.
Q5: Why is the Pico laser more effective than the Q-Switch laser at treating acne scars and pigmentation?
A5: Due to the short pulse duration of the Pico Laser, it breaks down pigmentation into a much smaller fragments compared to a Q-Switched Laser. This not only enables to skin to clear these fragments faster and easier--it also reduces the number of treatments required.
