What is Paediatric Rehabilitation?
The most common problem found in children is the misalignment of the spine, known as scoliosis, as well as cerebral palsy. Pediatric Rehabilitation at our affiliated center is a part of the physiotherapy rehabilitation services available for children with spine-related problems all the way from premature babies to adults.
How It Works
Physiotherapists provide examinations for children and adolescents, whereas babies are handled by the pediatricians. There are 2 therapies available: Bobath therapy and Vojta method therapy.
· Bobath therapy
A detailed examination on identifying things the child can do without any help, those where some help is needed, and those which the child simply is not able to do at all. From the findings, the physiotherapists would devise a therapy goal and plan, ranging from problems concerning the muscles and those which are neurological or mental in nature.
· Vojta method therapy
The treatment focuses on activating muscle chains in precisely defined positions, some examples of the problem include being unable to lift the head with the neck spine straight, unable to take a step forward naturally, etc. This is used primarily with prematurely-born children as well as older children who suffer from various scoliosis spine curvature problems. Moreover, this method is also often used on children affected by neurological factors such as post-traumatic paresis and handicap-related issues, and adults with neurological deficits for instance severe headaches or herniated discs.
