What is the Specialist Diabetic Foot Care At Our Affiliated Center?

For those with Diabetes, foot complications can become serious, often leading to ulcerations, infections and amputation of the foot. In order to prevent the latter from taking place, blood circulation at the feet must be promoted. This is because blood circulation helps heal wounds and reduces the risk of infection, which in turn reduces the need for an amputation. Laser Therapy can help promote blood circulation and wound healing at the feet area. A study in the International Surgery Journal reported that laser therapy had a positive effect on wound healing in patients with diabetic foot ulcers (Priyadarshini et.al, 2018).

Diabetic foot ulcers as one of the most common complications of diabetes mellitus are defined as nonhealing or long-lasting chronic skin ulcers in diabetic patients.
Laser Therapy, commonly known as Low Level Laser Therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free method with minor side effects which has been considered as a possible treatment option for diabetic foot syndrome.

Our affiliated clinic offers Laser Therapy for diabetic footcare at an affordable price. Diabetic foot complications can be prevented by proper care taken to treat the conditions. Podiatrists at our affiliated clinic are trained in diabetic wound care to treat wounds with proper care and minimize the infection as well as to improve wound healing.
In addition, acupuncture can as well be performed as an alternative treatment for foot.

How Laser Therapy Works

Low level laser therapy (LLLT), also called soft laser, supplies direct bio-stimulative light energy to body cells. The absorbed laser energy stimulates molecules and atoms of cells without causing rapid or significant increase in tissue temperature. During the procedure, optical light fibers are fixed on the treatment points in an upright position. Thus, a high optical density can be achieved at the end of the fiber, delivering therapeutic effects (increasing blood circulation) as manual needle acupuncture without the usage of any needles.
Different wavelengths may be used, in which different wavelengths have different depths of penetration into human tissue. Red laser has a deeper penetration depth than violet, blue, green, or yellow. Infrared and near infrared light are not visible, but it has been demonstrated to penetrate human tissue deeper than visible red light.
