What is Wrist and Arm Surgery?
Among the most common injuries within a hand and wrist are fractures, sprains and strains, as well as tendon damage and rupture. Hand and wrist injuries usually happen as a result of an impact or a fall. When we are trying to absorb an impact with our hand, transferring an entire impact force to our hand or wrist damages it. When a hand or wrist injury is not treated, this can result in permanent lock of a joint movement in the direct area of a fracture/burst. In addition, the limitation of joint movement can be a cause of other more dangerous injuries in the future.
Our affiliated clinic offers a variety of wrist and arm surgeries that can help improve your condition.
Wrist Arthroplasty Procedure
1. The damaged cartilage and bone in the wrist joint are removed.
2. Wrist bone is resurfaced using implants made of polyethylene and metal alloy, which duplicates the function of a healthy and normal joint.
