What is Thermage?
Thermage is a non-invasive surgical procedure for skin tightening. Using a combination of heat energy and the Monopolar Radiofrequency (RF) energy to stimulate collagen formation in deep tissue, Thermage helps to tighten the skin, producing a smoother and younger look in a single treatment. In addition, alternating pulses of heating and cooling make the procedure very refreshing and comfortable.
How It Works
Thermacool is a well-known synonym for "sagging skin treatment without cutting". The whole procedure is done with skin intact. The device effectively reach the deep layers of skin without any surgical treatment. Not only the dermis layer, but the fat layer is also approached, resulting a powerful tightening effect.
In addition to the treatment efficiency, the cooling system functions well to alleviate pain that has evolved from high temperature, enabling a more comfortable experience.
Thermage CPT
Thermage CPT, abbreviated for Comfort Pulsed Technology is especially used to eliminate wrinkles and sculpt your face and works to do just it claims to. It is normally applied on the face, hands, neck, legs, buttocks, abdomen, and thighs.
Thermage Procedure
1. ThermaTip will be used to give a cooling sensation on the area that will be treated by the dermatologist.
2. Heat energy from RF will then be applied. Alternating hot (from RF) and cold (from the ThermaTip) pulses will be applied throughout the procedure.
3. RF energy will penetrate deep into the skin tissue, heating the treatment areas and stimulating the formation of collagen.
4. The duration of treatment will vary from 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the area treated and its condition.
Treatment Depth of Thermage
Thermage can heat the skin from the top-down. It can treat up to 3mm of skin depth. Thermage uses bulk heating to stimulate tightening of the skin, smooth out wrinkles and increase collagen production. The RF energy is able to stimulate collagen contraction, giving a tightening effect, followed by the body's response of wound healing.

Thermage CPT Vs FLX

Thermage Post Care
· Please wear an appropriate amount of sunscreen with at least SPF 30 especially for 1 week after treatment
· Do not irritate treated area using strong chemicals like acne or anti-aging products, or by usage of abrasive materials like cleansing tools for 1 to 2 days after treatment
· Treat the area gently. Try to pat the skin instead of rubbing with towel.
· Daily activities may resume as usual. But if any blistering, redness, crusting, tenderness, or any other concerning changes occur, contact the doctor immediately.

Q1: Does Thermage hurt?
A1: You will feel a brief sensation of heat each time the Thermage is pulsed. But the device monitors the surface temperature of your skin and applies a cooling cryogen spray, which is delivered before, during, and after the application of heat.
Q2: How often should I have a Thermage session?
A2: Once every 2 to 3 years.
Q3: Can I undergo Thermage if I am breastfeeding?
A3: No. Please be informed that this treatment is not suitable for those who are pregnant, nursing, have any implantable pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter/defibrillator (ICD) or any other electronic implantable device.
Q4: Are there alternatives to Thermage?
A4: Thermage is known for its highly non-invasive skin tightening method that does not require frequent clinic visits. However, there are also other ways to lift and tighten your skin, such as by undergoing Ultherapy, thread lift, laser skin resurfacing, Botox and dermal filler procedures.
Q5: What is difference between Thermage and HIFU?
